Eclosion
Eclosion: emergence from a resting state into a completely new form.
The Eclosion project, the self-titled debut album and brainchild of Los Angeles native Gabriel Ayala, is a collection of songs dealing with themes of transformation, forgiveness and a past locked away.
The sound is industrial rock, electronic, synth line melodies and textures reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails and Gary Numan, with more pronounced and driven guitars. Songs like “Attrition” and “Brand New Place” have heavy industrial themes guitars while ”Pretending” is a natural club hit with a thumping drum groove behind sexy, concealed lyrics. A haunting fan favorite, “Breathe” stirs melancholy emotions then resolves like a moment of forgiveness. Grounded in strong roots, inspired by J. Cash, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails and Portishead, this album is for both alternative rock and industrial fans.
At the core of the album is the sound design and musicianship of Gabriel Ayala, recording, performing and producing, doing it all himself while taking on the challenges of opening his own label, Naildriver Records.
